Sometimes there are no words, no images that can fully express what lives within our souls, and that’s when the magic of abstract art comes in! Are you ready to unveil your own abstract language? In today’s post I’m sharing some key lessons from my new class Soulful Abstracts!
I have been super busy filming my new class Soulful Abstracts and I think it’s high time I give you a little update… with plenty of sneak peeks from the classe’s projects!
I’m feeling stuck, Yippee!… That’s right, since the holidays I have been feeling totally and utterly STUCK. The Artist Block in all its glory! If you’re a creative in any field at all, I’m sure this is something you can relate to, because it’s 100% part of the creative process. So what if we explored this together a little and see if I can lure myself back into the studio? Let’s find out!
Until now I've always felt like I should post a new message on the blog only when I've got something new to show, or something exciting to share, but... Following Stephanie Lee's example in her latest post, I've decided that I am allowed to write just to share a bit of what's going on these days: This week has all been about a big rush at my day job, taking the paintings off the walls from my exhibition (it's already over...) and trying to figure out how the French tax system works for artists, and what I have to do to "legally" be an artist! Sold my first mixed media pieces, I'm so glad and at the same time it feels weird knowing they are going to live their own lives... And today I re-organized my "studio" space in the basement, crossing my fingers that the big thunderstorm we're having tonight won't flood it again... And "spring allergies" to spice it all up! So yes, busy week, but not a minute to actually paint anything. I have 2 pieces that are nearly finished but haven't had the time or inspiration to do it yet. Sometimes it's just the way things go! But yesterday was the kindergarten party and I was doing make-up so I got the chance to paint lots of butterflies and... Spidermen!
(oh boy did I have a lot to say, for someone who thought she didn't...)
