Light, fear & gratitude

Light, fear and gratitude

In less than a week I know I will feel more vulnerable than ever. It's a funny thing to say but it's true. Because that's what stepping into the light does. Putting your work "out there", showing your art, sharing what you're so passionate about that you can hardly explain it... Sharing what makes you come alive, makes you who you are, at your very core, with all your light and beauty, and all your imperfections and clumsiness too.

It would be so easy NOT to do it. So much more comfortable to keep our dreams as they are: dreams, instead of turning them into reality. It would be so much easier to NOT take risks, NOT follow our callings, the nudges of our soul. Keep the canvas all clean and blank instead of risking to make a mess.

Yet I believe that in today's world, we cannot afford not to share our light.

And I also believe that it is our sacred duty, as artists and creatives, to step into the light and share our gifts with the world.

Yes, it is challenging, uncomfortable and downright scary. But it is also exciting and so fulfilling to know that you're doing what you've come here to do!

In less than a week I know I will feel more vulnerable than ever because I'll be stepping into the light in a new way: sharing about my journey, my creative process, my soul beliefs in front of the camera. And hopefully inspiring YOU to trust your light and dare to shine it more brightly.

I'm offering a free workshop to celebrate one year of teaching, one year of sharing my light through my online class Layers of Light. And it didn't make any sense to do it while staying in hiding, only sharing my voice and my paint-covered hands in video tutorials (which, a year ago was already so scary!)

If you're anything like me (a sensitive, introverted creative being) I know you can relate to this feeling that makes you want to crawl into bed and hide under a pile of warm blankets until it's all over.  Add a touch of never-good-enoughness and perfectionism to the mix... well you get the picture.

But here's the thing: all this fear is nothing compared to the joy and the gratitude that go with it. Fear is part of the journey anytime you step outside your comfort zone (and boy do I love my comfort zone) to move in the direction of your dreams and do what you know is aligned with your true purpose.

This is the kind of fear and joy I have felt at my first show, my first magazine cover or the opening of my first online art class a year ago. And I know there will be more and more of these wonderfully scary moments in the future, because I'm committed to my path, with full trust in my guiding star.

Over 2000 creatives are already signed up for this creative week, and despite the fear that this "number" triggers (gulp!), I'm feeling incredible gratitude for each and every person who will be joining me on this new adventure! Of course you're invited too and if you haven't already, you can reserve your seat here:

Wishing you so much Light and Love,

Into the Light -  Free workshop: 16-22 Oct. 2017

NB: Many of you have asked me when the next session of Layers of Light will be, and I'm happy to tell you that registration will open right after the free workshop ;)
