āShabby Little Bloomsā
Embrace imperfection ā¦..
Is your inner critic telling you that you have zero drawing or painting skills? Or that flowers are too difficult? Believe me, theyāre not! Let me show you how to do it āthe mixed media wayā:
Weāre simply going to doodle some loose, imperfect, imaginary blooms. Weāre even going to do it with our non-dominant hand! And above all weāre going to keep it super fun and relaxing.
These āshabby little bloomsā will be our starting point for a lovely series of small collages where we create romantic little āposiesā.
It's a delightful and gentle way to let go of perfectionism, invite inspiration, and create something thatās full of imperfect beauty and simple charm.
ā¦.. and create a series!
Creating a series is one my favorite ways to teach, because itās a truly great way to learn. Itās amazing what you can do with just a few little squares of paper!
Working in a series means you canāt get stuck: whenever you do, simply switch to another piece! It makes it so much easier to stay in the flow.
Working on several pieces at once helps you practice, anchor your discoveries, deliberately repeat any happy accident to make it yours, grow your skills and become more confident!
Each lesson in the Flower Flow online class begins with a mini series as a warm-up, and this Taster workshop is the first series we do!

"I enjoyed the loosely drawn and lightly painted flowers, and they end up looking awesome! I'm just learning and I am amazed at what I can do!"
ā NANCY H.

āYou've taught me to love and embrace the process of creating beauty, with all its imperfections and serendipitous moments. I love your calm demeanor - going to one of your classes is like meditation for me.ā
ā KATHRYN A.

āI am amazed that I could even draw at all with my non-dominant hand, but like you, I like it better for loose, organic shapes. Such fun!ā
ā SHELLEY S.
Workshop Schedule
Let me guide you step by step as you create a little floral series from start to finish. Get ready for a whimsical journey into mixed media layers!
The workshop is divided into 4 videos, released each day from Mon. 26 to Thu. 29 May.
Youāll have free access until the end of the week. This way, if you wish to do it all on the weekend, youāll have everything at your fingertips!
Part 1
Mon. 26 May
Messy Doodles
Let's warm up with some messy doodles! This is an opportunity for you to loosen up and invite YOUR flowers to bloom: imaginary, spontaneous and sweetly imperfect!
Part 2
Tue. 27 May
Layered Bouquets
Let's create little bouquets with more collage elements to add texture and a touch of color. Then we will start building up the layers of our backgrounds.
Part 3
Wed. 28 May
Sweet Collages
It's time to glue the different elements to our substrates. Just like in any bouquet, the key is to mindfully balance the organic feel with a bit of structure. Our little series is starting to take shape!
Part 4
Thu. 29 May
Final Touches
Let's add touches of color, and bring our little artworks to life with some fun finishing touches. Then it will be time for the most exciting part: removing the tape and seeing your art come to life!
I can't wait to share this delightful process with you!
