Hello my artsy friend!
A few days ago we did a super fun and dreamy photo shoot in my garden. I can hardly wait to see the pictures and until then, enjoy a look behind the scenes!
The super talented Anaïs @anaisrousseauphotographe came over to take some pictures for my new website, which the magical Emma @soulstirringbranding is dreaming up at the moment. It will be released next year, so stay tuned!
I’m all about finding magic in the everyday, connecting to nature and cultivating childlike wonder. So we went all in with an enchanted Secret Garden / Alice in Wonderland feel! William took some backstage pictures (I didn’t even realize when he did!) while Anaïs was working her magic…
Before the shoot, it had been so much fun to plan what we wanted to create and find props around the house and studio that would match the feel. I also ordered some sparkles to blow in the wind, paper pompoms to hang in trees, and plenty of fresh flowers. It felt like getting ready for a birthday party!
For a super whimsical feel, we took my pink studio armchair outside, together with my grandparents’ old coffee table, my art journals and plenty of art supplies. An artsy version of Alice’s tea party! We also had fun setting up a creative “picnic” area that our furry feline friends couldn’t resist…
We also had lots of fun with doors and windows, a favorite symbol that shows up again and again in my art journal. To me, it evokes the idea of stepping into the magical world of imagination and new possibilities!
Then at the end of the day, we made the most of the golden glow of the gorgeous autumn light to take pictures in the meadow behind our house, and in a nearby field. We took my easel outside, and even though I’m not an outdoor painter, nature is my biggest source of inspiration, so I love how this is going to be conveyed through the whole atmosphere of the photos.
I can’t wait to put these pictures to good use and see the whole website come together in the coming months, and above all, to share it with YOU! My hope is that it will feel like a magical, artsy little world where you can escape to, reconnect to your creative soul and feel endlessly inspired. This is all for you and I hope you will love it!
